Raphaelita Walker – Community Tribute

OBITUARY – Raphaelita Walker (nee McLean) passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 14, 2017 at her home in Toronto, Canada, two months after celebrating her 90th birthday. Beloved wife of Gifford Walker and loving mother to Olivia Grange-Walker and Denzil Walker, and many adopted children. She was also a grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother aunt and grand-aunt to many. The Abominable Crime

On January 26 at 6:30 pm, in partnership with the Canadian HIV/AIDS Legal Network, JCA will be screening the documentary, The Abominable Crime. The film follows the stories of two Jamaicans from the LGBTQ+ community, one a single mother trying to escape persecution after nearly being murdered, and the other an advocate who mounts a legal challenge to homophobic legislation, Maurice Tomlinson.
